About Latinxs Who Design
Overview
Latinxs Who Design is a public directory of Latinx professionals working across the design industry. It connects people who want to find role models to follow, seek out mentors, or recruit talented designers to their teams.
Unlike general job boards or social networks, this directory focuses exclusively on Latinx designers, making it a targeted resource for community building, representation, and professional discovery within a historically underrepresented group in tech and design.
Key Benefits
- Browse a curated list of Latinx designers spanning roles such as UX Designer, Art Director, Motion Designer, Illustrator, and more.
- Filter profiles by discipline to quickly locate the right type of designer for mentorship, hiring, or networking.
- Each profile links directly to the designer's personal site and Twitter, making outreach fast and direct.
- A nomination flow lets the community grow organically by submitting new members for inclusion.
- A dedicated Slack community gives members a real-time space to communicate beyond the directory listing.
How It Works
Visitors browse the directory by selecting a role filter — such as Product Designer, Web Designer, or Illustrator — to narrow the list of profiles. Each profile card displays the person's name, location, a short bio, their design disciplines, and links to their personal site and Twitter. To add someone to the directory, visitors use the Nominate option to submit a new member.
Use Cases
- Design hiring managers at tech companies searching for Latinx candidates to diversify their product or UX teams.
- Early-career Latinx designers looking for a mentor who shares a similar cultural background and professional path.
- Conference organizers seeking Latinx speakers or panelists with a background in visual, product, or motion design.
- Latinx designers new to a city who want to find and connect with local peers in the industry.
- Design educators building a more representative guest speaker list or reference pool for students.
