1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you register, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile image from Google.

Content you provide. Product submissions, collections ("boxes"), reviews, ratings, comments, upvotes, saved tools, profile details, and any messages you send us through the contact form.

Usage data. Pages viewed, products clicked, searches performed, referring pages, device and browser type, and approximate location derived from IP address. We use this to keep the directory relevant and to protect the site from abuse.

Cookies. We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences. If configured, we also use Google Analytics, which sets cookies to help us understand aggregate site usage. You can block cookies in your browser settings, though some features (like staying signed in) may stop working.

2. How We Use Information

• To operate, maintain, and improve the directory, collections, and review features
• To create and secure your account, and to authenticate you on future visits
• To display your public profile, submissions, reviews, and upvotes to other users
• To send account-related emails — verification, password resets, and important notices
• To respond to support requests submitted through the contact form
• To detect, prevent, and address fraud, spam, and abuse (including rate limiting)
• To understand aggregate usage patterns and improve the product experience

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:

• Public by design. Your username, profile, product submissions, reviews, ratings, and public collections are visible to anyone who visits the site.
• Service providers. Third parties that help us run the service, including Google (OAuth sign-in), Resend (transactional email delivery), and our hosting and file-storage providers. These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
• Legal reasons. If required to comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of MazikBox, our users, or the public.
• Business transfers. If MazikBox is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

4. Data Retention

We retain account and content data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it for legal, security, or accounting purposes.

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including hashed passwords, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access controls on our infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights & Choices

• You can review and update your account information at any time from Settings.
• You can delete individual reviews, submissions, or collections you created.
• You can request a copy of your personal information, or request that we delete your account and associated personal data, by emailing [email protected].
• Depending on where you live (for example, under GDPR in the EU/UK or CCPA in California), you may have additional rights to access, correct, port, or restrict the processing of your data. Contact us to exercise these rights.

7. Children's Privacy

MazikBox is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. International Users

Our servers may be located outside your country of residence. By using MazikBox, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the country where our servers are hosted.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email or through a notice on the site.
