About Town
Overview
Town is a personal AI assistant — a "Townie" — that learns how you work and then does the work for you. It manages your inbox, schedules your meetings, works through your to-do list, and handles the busywork quietly in the background.
Each person in Town gets their own Townie, which builds a wiki of how you work from your existing emails, documents, and workflows. It works across email, Slack, WhatsApp, Telegram, and text messaging, and Townies can join team workspaces too.
Key Benefits
- Learns your work style from your own emails, docs, and workflows, so there is no prompt setup or learning curve.
- Drafts replies and completes tasks in your voice, the way you would.
- Turns your to-do list into actions, then comes back with updates.
- Runs repeat work on schedule through stock and custom Routines.
- Connects to over 50 integrations across email, calendars, CRMs, and dev tools.
- Keeps you in control with approval-required defaults, three routine modes, and a full action log.
How It Works
A Townie reads context from the tools you connect — such as Gmail, Slack, and HubSpot — and builds a profile of how you write and work. You add tasks to a to-do list or describe a Routine, such as "every Friday at 4pm, scan my open PRs and draft a team status update," and the Townie handles it, asking for approval before sending emails, editing documents, or taking any action.
Use Cases
- Business owners: draft client proposals and get a daily morning briefing.
- Sales professionals: work in HubSpot and Slack, write deal recaps, and log qualified opportunities.
- Investors and executives: receive meeting briefings and contact research dossiers before calls.
- Engineers: get GitHub reports and team status updates drafted from open pull requests.
- Recruiters and people teams: monitor a Slack channel for new signups and post research summaries.
- Operators: decline cold outreach and keep the inbox triaged without manual label work.

Frequently asked questions about Town
Is there a free version of Town?
Yes. Town has a permanently free plan with no credit card required. It includes 30 chat messages per month, the personal assistant across email, Slack, WhatsApp, and Telegram, all integrations, a weekly briefing, and community support. New signups also start with a 7-day free Pro trial before landing on the Free plan.
What types of plans does Town offer?
Two kinds. Individual plans (Free, Starter, Pro, Power, and Power Plus) cover one person and their assistant. Team plans add multiple seats with a shared pool of credits, a shared workspace, shared workflows and skills, org-wide analytics, and consolidated admin billing for groups that want to collaborate and manage Town together.
Is there a free version for teams?
Yes. New teams start on Team Free with no charge, and members keep running on their own personal plans. Team Free covers the sharing features — team integrations, installable routines, skills, and access rules — but a free team has no shared credits and cannot run team background jobs.
Does Town sell or share my data?
No. Town connects to your tools only to do the work you ask it to do. It does not sell your data and does not share it for advertising. Everything you bring into Town — emails, documents, prompts, and outputs — remains yours, and Town claims no ownership over your content.
Is my data used to train AI models?
No. Town uses AI models through their APIs, where the terms explicitly prohibit using your inputs, outputs, or conversations for model training. Data from Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Drive is never used to train machine learning models, as required by Google's API Services User Data Policy.
Can I delete my data and revoke access?
Yes. You can delete your account in Settings — Town soft-deletes immediately and permanently removes all data within 30 days. You can also disconnect any integration from your settings or revoke Town's access directly from your Google, Slack, or Notion security settings.
