About Solarch
Overview
Solarch is a backend-architecture tool that turns a node/edge diagram into working code. You draw controllers, services, repositories, tables, DTOs and queues on one canvas with 16 semantic edges spread across eight families, and a default-deny Rules Engine validates every connection as you draw it.
Solarch reverses the usual AI coding order: it proposes the architecture first, grounds it in canonical patterns, verifies it against the rules, and generates code only from validated graphs. You leave with source code, a Mermaid diagram or AI-readable memory of your system.
Key Benefits
- Every connection is validated as you draw it, so an illegal edge never reaches a commit.
- The deterministic compiler emits DTOs, entities and constructor injection with zero token cost.
- Schema, API contract and typed client stay aligned, so a changed column stops the frontend compiling until you fix it.
- Each node lives in one tab, and other tabs import it as a ghost reference rather than a copy.
- One diff engine keeps your editor, CI pipeline and AI agents reading the same architecture.
- The free tier includes the AI architect and rules validation, and needs no credit card.
How It Works
You open the omni-bar, type a sentence or sketch a box, and the agent reads the prompt and drafts a graph. The Rules Engine then accepts or rejects each edge, and the agent re-applies with a Service and a Repository inserted where a Controller tried to reach a Table directly. Rejections feed back until the graph is clean, and only then do you export the result as code, a Mermaid diagram or vector memory.
Use Cases
- Backend engineers lay out a full service topology on one canvas before writing any code.
- Tech leads enforce a rules matrix that keeps teammates from wiring controllers straight to tables.
- Platform teams run the Solarch CLI drift guard in CI to block merges that break the architecture.
- Developers using Claude, Cursor or other agents connect the MCP server so the assistant reads the real graph and rules.
- Architects export Mermaid diagrams to document a validated system for reviewers.
- Enterprise teams self-host the product with SSO, audit logs and a custom rules matrix.
Why Choose This Product
Solarch checks architecture before it writes code, so the diagram and the codebase describe the same system instead of drifting apart over later commits. The default-deny engine blocks anything outside the whitelist, which means the rules decide what is legal rather than a reviewer catching it after the fact. The trade-off is explicit: stage one delivers skeletons only, so the algorithmic logic stays with you.
Solarch Pros & Cons
- Default-deny Rules Engine rejects illegal edges while you draw
- Deterministic compiler emits skeletons with zero token cost
- Free tier includes the AI architect and rules validation
- One diff engine shared by the editor, CLI and MCP server
- Exports code, Mermaid diagrams and AI-readable memory
- Deterministic stage one delivers skeletons only, leaving algorithmic logic to you
- CLI drift guard and deterministic generation target NestJS
Key Features
Graph Canvas
One canvas holds controllers, services, repositories, tables, DTOs and queues, joined by 16 semantic edges across eight families including Data, Business, Access and Infra.
Default-Deny Rules
The Rules Engine forbids every connection outside the whitelist and enforces 7 anti-patterns plus 3 conditional checks at the moment you draw.
AI Architect
A LangGraph agent grounds each plan in a vector-indexed library of canonical patterns, such as rest-api, before it draws anything.
Hybrid Code Engine
A deterministic compiler builds DTOs, entities and constructor injection with zero tokens, then a surgical AI fills only the empty function bodies at roughly 300 tokens per function.
Type-Safe Pipeline
The database schema becomes an API contract and then a typed client, with each layer checked at compile time.
Omni-Bar Modes
One command bar provides an autonomous builder mode and a conversational architect mode without leaving the canvas.
Ghost References
Each node lives in a single tab while other tabs import it as a reference instead of a duplicated copy.
VS Code Extension
A revision timeline and live drift findings appear in the Problems panel, with push, pull and generate available inside the editor.
CLI Drift Guard
The Solarch CLI handles drift guard, two-way sync and deterministic code generation for NestJS, and blocks merges that break the architecture in CI.
MCP Server
The MCP server gives Claude, Cursor and other AI agents the real architecture and rules, and commits a write only when the edges pass.

Frequently asked questions about Solarch
What is Solarch?
Solarch is a backend-architecture tool. You draw your system as a node/edge graph of controllers, services, repositories, tables, DTOs and queues, and a strict Rules Engine validates every connection as you draw it. Solarch then generates code that matches the validated graph, so the diagram and the codebase stay aligned.
How is Solarch different from AI coding tools like Copilot or Cursor?
Most AI tools generate code first and hope the architecture holds up. Solarch generates the architecture first, grounds it in canonical patterns, validates it with a default-deny Rules Engine, and only then writes code from the verified graph. The AI proposes, the rules verify, and correct graphs become code.
What does the Rules Engine check?
It is a default-deny validator: any connection that is not explicitly whitelisted is forbidden. It enforces 7 anti-patterns and 3 conditional checks, such as blocking a Controller from reaching a Table directly instead of routing through a Service or Repository. Illegal edges are rejected the moment you draw them.
How does Solarch generate code?
A deterministic compiler turns the graph into a skeleton without spending tokens: DTOs, entities and constructor injection come straight from the edges. A surgical AI step then fills only the empty function bodies. You export the result as code, a Mermaid diagram or AI-readable memory.
How much does Solarch cost?
The free tier costs $0 forever. Draw is $5/month, Build is $20/month, Code is $100/month, Team is $30 per seat and Enterprise is custom. Paid plans start with a 7-day trial.
Is Solarch available yet?
Yes. Solarch is live, and you can start free at app.solarch.dev. Paid plans, including Draw and Build, include a 7-day trial.
