About Ark UI

Overview

Ark UI is an open-source headless UI library that ships more than 45 accessible, unstyled components for building reusable, scalable design systems. Developers bring their own CSS and compose components across React, Solid, Vue, and Svelte without fighting default styles.

Key Benefits

  • Truly headless with no default styles to override
  • A single component API works across React, Solid, Vue, and Svelte
  • WAI-ARIA patterns, keyboard navigation, and screen reader support baked in
  • State machine driven interactions that cover edge cases
  • Style with Panda, Tailwind, CSS-in-JS, or plain stylesheets

How It Works

Import a component from the framework package, such as @ark-ui/react/slider, and compose it from sub-parts like Slider.Root, Slider.Track, and Slider.Thumb. Wire up state with the framework's own reactivity model, then apply your own styles using the styling tool of your choice.

Use Cases

  • Design system teams build reusable component libraries once and share them
  • React, Solid, Vue, and Svelte developers use one consistent component API
  • Enterprises ship accessible web apps with keyboard and screen reader support
  • UI library authors base their own component sets on Ark UI, as Chakra UI and Park UI do

Why Choose This Product

Ark UI drives every component with state machines, which cuts down on errors and produces predictable behavior across complex interactions. Because it is fully headless, teams keep complete control over styling while relying on accessibility behavior that works out of the box.
